Store Manager

Team Member since 2016

I started my journey with Lassus in April of 2016 at the Spy Run location in Fort Wayne. Brandi was my hiring manager at the time, Brandi was such an awesome woman to work for and at the time I really did not know where I was going with my life. I quit a job that I was at for 11 years and it was so hard to transition to customer service because I worked in a factory for so long! Miss Janet, who has been with the company for 20 years, is my God mother and has had my back every which way! I became an In-Store Trainer within 9 months of working for the company, after which Brandi and Miss Janet encouraged me to apply for the assistant position and I soared from there!

I continue to choose Lassus because it is such an awesome loving company to work for! I have not had one bad vibe working here. Lassus actually cares about their employees and I really love all the contributions and events that Lassus does with our community!

My favorite part working for Lassus would be the customers. I meet so many different people everyday from different walks of life! I can honestly say I enjoy getting up very early in the morning knowing I'm working for such a great company.

I have 2 amazing children who mean the world to me! They are so proud of me becoming a manager.

I know I don’t know everything when it comes to being a manager, but I am trying my best to become the best I can be with this company I will not be going anywhere for a long long time! Lassus is stuck with me!

IT Director

Team Member since 2004

The year was 2004. Mike Bates (Vice President of Operations at the time) hired me into a manager position within Lassus for an unknown location.

After a 30 day period of running register and transitioning from a restaurant mindset/background to the convenience store frame of mind, I was off to “my” own store, Bluffton Road.

First day of management training, my trainer, Deb S. (RIP), received a call that the next day she was to report to the Lassus in Dectaur, leaving me on my own to run the store. Swoops in the entire training department, Jessica A., to save the day and train me a few hours a day on paperwork and other essentials.

Fast forward a few months…. our Illinois and Scott Rd. location is scheduled for reopening after rebuilding from a devastating fire and I get tapped to work side by side with Anna C. (then Elmo’s manager) to reopen and revitalize the location. With our great team members, we were able to kick some…ashes and make it happen!! The store was back on the map and a force to reckoned with.

2009 the opportunity came when it was announced the MIS Director (now titled IT Director), Greg S., was going to be retiring and was in the search for a successor. I threw my hat into the ring and heart and time into going back to college to complete a degree in an IT related field of study. The 3 year plan morphed into 5 years. With commitment and dedication, from the Lassus family and myself, the transition occurred September 2015.

Why Lassus? I tell anyone considering working for Lassus, or asking about our culture, that what I love is it is big enough to provide corporate opportunities (recognition, promotion, education, etc.) yet still small enough to provide the family touch

My favorite part of working at Lassus? Being part of a team that strives to put the best product and customer experience at the forefront…and have some fun doing it!

Food Service Coordinator

During my 15 years at Lassus, I've had the opportunity to evolve and hone my skills in food service and leadership. Moving through the ranks from a Store Manager to a Food Service Coordinator, I've had the opportunity to train over 40 people, many of whom went on to have long or continuing careers at Lassus. My favorite part of Lassus are the customers and the company itself. I love how the company recognizes and accepts different cultures and ethnicities. As long as you work hard, there's always a place for you here at Lassus.

I have worked for Lassus since June of 2015. I have been a CSR with no management responsibilities which I desired. I have worked at Columbia City and Store 45 in Warsaw. I retired as the Controller at Penguin Point Franchise where I worked for 18 years. I came to Lassus to get some experience in dealing with the public and get some spending money. Dealing with the public has been an experience which I have enjoyed for the most part.
